Arrivederci, Amici

Well, the deletion terrorism is getting to be too obnoxious to deal with, and since the blog has ceased to be any fun to maintain now, it's time to call it a day. Thanks to all who made this a great sharing experience, and I'm sure I'll resurface again when the smoke clears. In the meantime, enjoy the files that remain; I'll keep the blog up for a while, or whatever remains of it, anyway. Best wishes to you all, and may your lives be filled with music.

what a truck load of s**t, a few collector's can't even share a few rare recordings without some a**hole, probably from the same record company that reuses to release these recordings "because there isn't enough demand".
Well obviously what they mean is they don't want to release a cd that will only shift maybe 100's of copies when they can churn out some shite "music from & inspired by" crap (filled with rock music not even in the damn film)that will sell 100,000's of copies.
Don't they see that the majority of collector's using these blogs have been collecting soundtracks for years and spending thousands on them, all we want is to get hold of a few unreleased or out-of-print albums which, let's be honest the vast majority of people couldn't give two hoots about anyway (apart from us:)

Well, rant over, it was good while it lasted but it looks like the "honeymoon period" is over for this hobby :(

Hope to see you around again, soon ;)

    All the best

The soundtracks you posted were so rare and NOT IN PRINT that I don't understand why anyone is making it their life's work (or what life they have anyway) to go around to people's blogs and report files. Is it really that fun? Justifying? I think it's sad.

  7. I'm sorry that you're leaving and that your posts have been deleted (there were a couple interesting ones I never got a chance to listen to). If you do decide to come back (and I hope you will at some point) I would recommend using anything other than rapidshare. Thanks again though for so many cool records.

Sorry to hear it, but I totally understand. This sort of thing seems to run in cycles. I remember last summer that 5 or 6 blogs had to shut down.

If you do resurface, be sure to let us know. Your shares were always among the best. Thank you.

Just so you know, it's the careful attention to respecting copyrights and incredible generosity of people like you that has brought me back to having hope for the internet. I hate to see you go, but maybe you can return once those losers have disappeared - and maybe on some other hosting sites that are less likely to kill every file, even though there is no copyright being broken.

I'm sad to see you're calling it quits (hopefully only for now). You've brought me lots of great music from films I love, films I've never heard of, and films I've never seen ("The Burning" jumps to mind as one that I've never seen -- but I now know the album by heart) with dead-on reviews of the films and music. As completely obscure as these albums are, I don't understand why some callow a-hole has become linkicidal.

Your updates will be missed and I look forward to your return.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I know how you feel . I just updated my blog last night and my upload was already deleted this morning ! This is getting worse by the minute ... Anyway , THX for sharing some FAB music with us all . Take care and keep enjoying the music ... ;o)

Somewhere along the line I woke up in the wrong place. I can remember when quality and taste used to be encouraged, when Oprah Winfrey was just a woman on television and not a billionaire, when Cinemax showed Joe D'Amato and Harry Alan Towers films late at night. Then something went wrong. Anything good seems destined for the junkheap these days. I'm sorry to see this blog disappear; I peeked in almost every day. Go with my compliments.

Thank you for the great soundtracks you shared, you certainly made a difference to me. I hope you can keep the blog up for a while, as it was the writing and tracklistings that accompanied the soundtracks that made visiting your blog so enjoyable! Here's hoping you can do a similar thing soon.

Damn, I've been here just 2 weeks, thought your blog was great, how sad, I'm also a collector with 1000's of scores and was hoping to share at some point once I got used to the whole blog thing, such a shame, wish there was a way around this red tape BS..

    ReplyDelete
  31. Anonymous8:19 AM

for the collectors out there prob the easiest thing to do would be create a private bit torrent tracker and use that just for the people that actually would want to share and collect the sound tracks that they want to

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anonymous9:20 AM

I do understand your point of view. The most imortant thing about your blog is to have shared some unrealeased great scores on CD with people who appreciate soundtracks.

  34. Anonymous10:06 AM

The very first Soundtrack-Blog I discovered was "7 Black Notes". I loved all your shares and how much care you put in this Blog(The "Italian Blend"-Collection is a classic).
I'm sad to see you go, but understand it.
Take care, mate - We'll miss you!

  35. Sorry to see the deletions drive you away; this was always a first stop for me.

I suspect part of the problem is that Rapidshare is being sued in Germany, and they may be combing through and deleting potentially illegal uploads. Damned frustrating, to say the least.

    ReplyDelete
  36. This blog is one of the best i've come across- thanks so much and you will be missed.

  37. seriously sad to see you go; this blog was the kind of blog i dreamed about. thank you so much of everything you did, and PLEASE resurface somewhere soon!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thank you very much, everybody, for the comments (and thanks for the beat, Max -- that's fantastic!). Hopefully this will all pass and things will get back to normal; I doubt Rapidshare's to blame since this syndrome's striking other hosts as well. Let's just hope the individual(s) responsible get it all out of their system like a similar wave last year (which killed off the still sorely-missed Mondo Daddykin). Once again, many, many thanks to you all who made this a great experience which is hopefully closing a chapter, not an entire book.

  39. Anonymous3:49 PM

I agree with all you guys. The problem seems to be some bloggers like sharing new releases and that may be bringing more scrutiny to the other blogs.

If folks didn't share the stuff the labels care most about, I'd assume they'd leave us alone.

Thanks for your efforts. IMHO, I think people are missing the point. So what if they delete the files, as long as blogger got it out to a few happy true fans, that should be more than enough. You did a good deed by sharing. It should be up to the lucky few who got to d/l them to keep the files going. Bottom line is, don't just take and leech without giving back. It's not hard to up a file--anyone can do it. Keep it alive elsewhere.

  46. Sorry for your deletion problems. we all hope you reconsider. Good luck nonetheless.

  50. You're letting the (anti-blog) terrorists win!

    Sigh...

    ReplyDelete
  51. Anonymous7:10 PM

Now, terorism has a new meaning. Not only one who kill people, but also kill our wonderful community here.

Thanks to you, 7 black notes for all the soundtracks. I'll be missing you, and hope you'll be back so soon.

I have a suggestion for solving this deleting terror. Some blogs have to hide their Upload Link behind "hide url" website, so that the terrorist couldn't find the real Link. But this didn't work with Rapidshare.

There are some site that provide to hide upload link at some file sharing service. I will inform you when I find it.

    Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Anonymous7:23 PM

Maybe this url could help us to hide our download link. (But I think this didn't work with rapidshare).

    http://www.rsprotect.com/rc-YWY5Q2M1QTM/VA_mmccr.rar

    OR

    http://hideurl.net/?r=7cp

Maybe one of us could help you to find this kind of site that could work with rapidshare.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Anonymous1:31 AM

I don't think it matters. Some use Linx some use hideurl and these guys still can find it. If you have a good bot searcher or are good at reading page code, it isn't hard to find where a link goes.

The only solution seems to be to not share new stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It's a shame that a few can make things so miserable for the many like you who share just to share, and who enjoy because the rest of us enjoy what you give us. Hope you're not gone for good, we will miss you however long.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Anonymous6:38 AM

couldn't blogs be for soundtracks that are oop, promo or albums that have been imported to a computer source. and we as a group only sample the new stuff [like amazon, or any other selling entity] and review what is just released. let us know if it is worth getting or buying. we don't have to break the law, just promote the music. hell make a compilation option, stating if you like one or two tracks...please buy the rest. and those who sell inflated priced music of any source [via cd, album, cassette] be aware times have changed. trading music is at a new level, and we as traders are smarter than ever. if we want a soundtrack we will find away to get it, if we want it bad enough we will pay the sellers prices. so we as a group need to get those blogs that we love back, just change our ways, stay within the law. keep everyone happy. i love coming to this "7 black note" everyday, my score list of things i want is never ending and it is great resource for me and everyone involved. let's make this work.
    thanks, "evildino"
